Mosquitoes and Bite Prevention

Mosquitoes are basically “flying hypodermic needles”, which carries the disease. In my humble opinion, it is the most dangerous insects on the planet. Mosquitoes transmit the infection to more than 700 million people worldwide and kills one of every 17 people currently live. Malaria is believed to killĀ  three million people annually. It is clear that they must be feared.
Diseases

Experienced travelers should already be familiar with some of the diseases that mosquitoes carry. Yellow fever and Dengue, two viral diseases are common diseases, travelers have to do with S. Fortunately yellow fever is a vaccine preventable. Malaria is another disease that travelers should know. This blood-borne parasitic infection is a global killer. Filiariasis also deserves mention as well. There are many other infections that ‘Mozzi, “and they all make a list of reasons not to get bit!
Mosquitoes

All winged insects are in order Diptera. Anopheles, Culex and Aedes are generalists that know when they are responsible for most human bites and disease transmission. Interestingly, only female mosquitoes are biters because they need blood to help produce eggs. They usually require a “blood meal” every 3-4 days. Males are pleased with the flowers and nectar. Different types prefer to eat at different times during the day. For example, Culex mosquitoes prefer to bite from Dusk Till Dawn “, which helps travelers avoid bites by reducing outdoor activity during these times.
What attracts mosquitoes

Things that attract mosquitoes to bite, is not fully understood and involves all the senses mosquitoes. Mosquitoes lock on their target using visual and thermal traces, plus a very well developed sense of smell. Times a day a mosquito chooses to bite, to illustrate what clues it uses to find your body. Day bite is believed to have developed visual sense and are attracted to darker colors, such as your favorite black T-shirt. Also a lot of movement helps to attract attention as well. Dusk Till Dawn bite is known with perfect monitoring system for heat, which are attracted by heat and moisture in the skin.

People who sweat more are also to be more attractive, at least until the mosquitoes. Perfumes, scented soaps and lotions and are likely attractants. Several good hypotheses about the likelihood of mosquito attraction of carbon dioxide exhaled by breathing. Some species of mosquitoes carry associated with specific locations of the body such as ankles, face or hands. Several well-written studies have shown some statistics:

Adults are more likely to be bitten than children
Men are better than women
Larger people are more likely to be bitten, compared with smaller people
