It is ironic that while they were so many advances in medicine, robotic-assisted surgery, cloning of embryos, the mapping of genomes of our health care delivery model is basically the same. In no other industry, primarily we “do” the same way we do it “years ago.

Unfortunately, the result of our inability to change reflected in the price we pay for health care. Today, Americans spend $ 7290 per person per year on health - more than double what we spend every other developed nations.

If we have a significant impact on health outcomes and costs, we can not continue to do it the same way as we did years ago. Health IT to deliver real-time data for real life, like any other industry in America – from sport to transport mobile – running.

The core is the issue of health care data – who is who has access to it when you use it and what can you say that you did not know until 10 minutes. Crucial to this is the movement of data across the continuum of care from the doctor’s office in the patient’s home, and everywhere century.

To change the status of health, we need a new framework that allows innovation prices experiments, and ultimately drives value. We need a system for delivering health services that are designed for real-time health management and user involvement. That is what will allow us to realize the policy goals of providing increased access, while the country is maintaining fiscal responsibility and to provide in the future – the promise of personalized medicine.
